It is a legal requirement for every UK business to carry out a fire risk assessment and as part of that assessment, review the volume and accessibility of fire extinguishers. In addition, a full service of each fire extinguisher in your premises is required
every 5 years.
If you possess fire extinguishers which do not adhere to the red colour-coded casing scheme as set out by specification BS 5423 (i.e. they are the older black/blue/cream variety) you should look to replace them as soon as possible.

- All of our Extinguishers and safety equipment is BS Kitemarked and CE marked.
- Our Water Fire Extinguishers come fully charged with pressure levels displayed on an easy-to-read pressure gauge. They are most suited for use on class A solid combustible fires such as wood, paper, fabrics, coal etc.
- Our Foam Fire Extinguishers are light-weight which makes them ideal for use in a shop or office environment. They are most suited for use on class A solid combustible fires and class B flammable liquid fires, however they are not suitable for chip pan fires.
- Our Powder Fire Extinguishers are most commonly found in shop, office, warehouse and workshop environments. They are incredibly versatile and can be used against class A, class B and class C fires. They are also safe to use on live electrical equipment.
- Our CO2 (carbon dioxide) Fire Extinguishers are most suitable against class B fires, including petrol, oil and solvents. They are also the most effective extinguisher against electrical fires. CO2 leaves no residue and is therefore the cleanest extinguisher available.
- Our Wet Chemical Extinguishers are most suited to class F oil and fat fires (such as chip pan fires). The hose-end is reinforced to ensure a better aim whilst remaining at a safe distance.
